Welding Inspection, ITA
(Witnessing of welders’ qualification test and welding procedure qualification test)
Before welding starts, the NDT / WI Division reviews the established procedures; during manufacturing process, it ensures that these procedures are applied. As a part of these control procedures, destructive and non-destructive testing may be conducted.
Shop Inspection
Through regular visits to the manufacturers’ workshop and their
sub-contractors, the NDT / WI Division checks the conformity of manufactured goods with specifications.
During such visits, it will also witness or, alternatively, perform with its own equipment non-destructive tests such as radiography, ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing, as well as dye-penetrant testing on castings, forgings and welds, etc.
Witnessing of Commissioning / Performance Test
(Witnessing of field acceptance tests on the clients’ behalf).
• Preparation of test procedures, checking calibration of test equipment, interpretation of results.
• Witnessing of performance tests, ensuring that results conform to contractual obligations and specified standards.
Dimensional Checking
Verify that all parts have been manufactured to the dimensions given in approved drawings and specifications. Checks are made on dimensions, tolerances, alignment fits and interchangeability.
Visual Inspection
Verify that all parts have been manufactured to the dimensions given
in approved drawings and specifications. Checks are made on
dimensions, tolerances, alignment, fits and interchangeability.
Testing and Checking of Materials
Verify that materials conform to contractual specifications. The
NDT / WI Division reviews tests reports and certificates of origin
and witnesses major tests and analysis. When required, tests will
be conducted. |
